3 Lessons from My First Waymo Ride
1. Automate the mundane so you can use the time you gain to observe what’s around you. Visiting a new city turns into a picture book to admire instead of a puzzle to solve.
2. New technology becomes less intimidating once you experience it.
After 5 minutes, we eased into the ride and even forgot there was no driver. Yea, the background music we selected provided some distraction.
3. Start reimagining how cities will be developed.
Autonomous vehicles will influence how cities are planned and how real estate is developed. Getting kids to school, adults to work, goods to the end user will be reimagined and redesigned. This will invetitably reshape roads, parking requirements, neighborhoods, warehouses and campuses.
